2008-2009 Tentative Studio Calendar

September 15th Classes Begin

October 2nd thru November 6th Session I of Adult Tap begins

October 27th- first half of costume fees due ($25 for each 3-6 year old, $50 for each student age 7 & up)
*( separate check from tuition installment please)

October 27th thru November 1st-DRESS UP WEEK for 3-6 year olds.

Friday, November 14th Parents Night Out 5:30-9:30 P.M. $15 per child- pizza and fun

November 20th- costume balance due *( sep check from tuition installment please)

November 24th-27th Fall Break- STUDIO CLOSED

December 1st Classes Resume

December 7th (Sunday) Christmas Parade

December 11th After 5 year old ballet and tap class, studio will close at 5:00 P.M.

December 15th-19th Bring a Friend Week

December 22nd- January 1st-CLOSED FOR WINTER BREAK

Classes resume January 5th

January 5th thru 10th- ALL STUDENTS WILL BE MEASURED FOR COSTUMES

January 8th thru February 12th –Session II Adult Tap begins

January 19th-Studio Closed for MLK Day

February 10th – Recital Fees Due ( sep check from tuition installment please)

March 5th thru April 2nd- Session III Adult Tap

April 10th – Recital T-shirt Pre-order Due ( shirts are cheaper when you pre-order!) *Separate check from installment fee please

April 13th thru 18th- Studio closed for Spring Break

May 25th Studio closed for Memorial Day

Registration for 09-10 Begins- save $60 pay for year in full by June 6th!

June 1st thru 4th- Mandatory Rehearsals ( extra rehearsal days may be planned)- at studio and BHS

June 5th Mandatory Dress Rehearsal at BHS 6:00 P.M.

June 6th Recital @ 7:00 P.M. @ BHS
*ALL STUDENTS 8 & UP INTERESTED IN PERFORMANCE TEAM, MUST ATTEND SUMMER SESSION TO BE ELIGIBLE AND MUST HAVE TAKEN CLASSES AT LEAST ONE YEAR OF TAP, JAZZ AND BALLET ( if student has been out of dance for a few years, they will have to attend extra classes at a discount in order to catch up to level that is appropriate for their age, only then would they be eligible for performance team for the next year)

Summer Session- dates to be determined later

Summer Camps- depending on interest level- dates to be determined later
*Summer classes are mandatory for 08-09 Performance team members in order to remain eligible for 09-10

STUDIO CLOSINGS

We follow weather closings for Mecklenburg Public Schools. To keep it simple, when they close due to weather situations, we do as well. This may seem silly at times, but it guarantees that everyone knows immediately about whether the studio is closed or not. Having to call to find out is very stressful to the parent, and also the studio owner when they have to make a decision that might be difficult, in haste. It is also difficult to contact everyone if we do have classes..so, to keep it simple, this is our policy. WHEN MECKLENBURG PUBLIC SCHOOLS CLOSE DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS, WE CLOSE AS WELL.
